A judge is required to preside over hearings and trials in local, state and federal courts. Their roles and responsibilities include confirming evidences, ensuring effective trails, checking the testimony of witnesses etc as per the law. They often resolve disputes between prosecutors during trails. The basic responsibility of a judge is to make sure all the proceedings are fair wherein these trials are able to protect the legal and ethical rights of everyone involved.
Also, one of the most important aspects of the law that is setting up of new rules and regulations (laws) when standard procedures aren’t able to accommodate certain aspects, require the help of judges. The government normally appoints a panel which includes retired and currently functional judges. Unlike what is perceived, a career as judge leads to functioning even outside the court. Judges study legal motions; they research on these issues and even hold hearings with lawyers.
A judge’s duties and responsibilities vary on his or her jurisdictions and the powers associated with the post. Hence, career growth of judges is when their jurisdiction gets extended. Being a judge is a test of skill, knowledge and ethics. Judges are seen with respect not only by the lawyer frate

Educational Requirements
Apart from getting degrees in the field of law, judges are required to have considerable years of experience to be eligible. Judges can take up other types of learning (mostly via an online degree or short term certifications) to be updated with the latest functional aspects; this helps them in the working and understanding as well.
Employment and Salary Aspects
Judges can be elected or can be appointed. Federal judges are appointed for life by the senate, but state and even municipal judges have fixed tenures. The employment outlook is excellent for a judge with an above average pay scale. Salary aspects are different for judges working in federal courts, district courts and supreme courts.
Lastly, clearing certain examinations administered through the U.S. Office of Personnel Management is a requirement for federal administrative (law) judges.
