Acne And Effective Home Remedies
Written by Dave@AM
Acne is basically an inflammatory skin disease that affects oil glands in the skin. It is a group of rashes that arise from different causes. It is most common in teenagers, and there are also many adults who suffer from it. When suffering from acne, you find pimples on the face, neck, shoulders, chest and back. Though it is not a serous threat, it does lead to scarring that could bring about psychological effects.
There are different types of pimples in acne like whiteheads, blackheads, papules, pustules, cysts and nodules. Though there are many over the counter medications that prove to be effective in treating acne, some people don't find any solace with these medications. Some people also tend to suffer from side effects from these medications.
This is why home remedies are great in treating acne problems. Home remedies are enhanced with the right vitamin and mineral supplements. Whichever home remedy you choose for your acne problem, ensure that you drink lots of water as drinking water prevents skin problems.
The best way to find out how much of water you have to drink, you can divide your body weight in half, and drink at least that much of water in a day. Maintain a regular exercise regime as with the right aerobic exercise routine your cells receive oxygen to give you healthy skin.
One of the most effective home remedies for acne is cooking oatmeal and then applying it on the face for fifteen minutes. This face pack has to be washed away after fifteen minutes. Another effective home remedy is a warm bath where there is a blanch of nettle and rosemary. This is very effective in reducing acne.
Lemon juice is an effective home remedy for acne. All you have to do is to mix an equal amount of lemon juice and rose water, and using a cotton ball apply on the acne. Leave this on for half and hour and wash for 15 to 20 days. If you don't have the patience to mix all this and apply on your face, all you can do is rub the acne with garlic cloves, a few times a day.
You could even try applying toothpaste on acne; however ensure it does not touch the skin as it dries the skin. Drinking carrot or cucumber juice or just eating them helps control acne. You could even try squeezing cucumbers, and then applying its juice to the acne using cotton wool pads. There is bound to be some difference in your acne after some time
If you don't mind the smell of eggs, try dipping a cotton ball in egg whites, to apply on your clean face. Wash after a few hours and see the difference. Mixing a tablespoon of brown sugar and two tablespoons of white sugar, and rubbing on your face after adding a little water proves to be effective in controlling acne.
Even applying a mixture of sandalwood and neem powder with rose water before sleeping, and cleaning it in the morning proves to be effective in controlling acne. So it can be seen that there are numerous home remedies that you can use, and try out for your acne. Remember, when compared to other acne treatments, these home remedies prove to be much safer without the danger of serious side effects.
