Acne, Severe Acne, And Attempting Accutane
Written by Jason Popper
Many severe acne sufferers often turn to the Dermatologist for serious help, as if their acne continues, they will most definitely get loads of unwanted acne scarring. Scarring is by far much more difficult to treat than acne will ever be. So, most of them decide to try out the acne treatment Accutane. Accutane is a serious acne treatment that is used by many acne sufferers, however its success rate is only about 50%. So, how does it work?
Accutane shuts down your oil glands, and you usually take these pills for six months. Some people take Accutane up to three times or more, but this is not recommended as this acne treatment is very hard on the liver. There are many different unique side effects this drug may have. The most common side effect is very dry skin. You'll need to carry around lip moisturizer wherever you go, as forgetting to bring one definitely leads to chapped lips, and even possibly cold sores.
The experience for Accutane overall for most acne sufferers isn't that bad. Of course, you'll notice a few minor inconveniences in your life, such as avoiding sunlight, moisturizing the skin, and remembering to take your pills on time. These issues shouldn't be much of a conce
for the severe acne sufferer, since removing acne is a top priority. Accutane has been known to sometimes encourage scarring, and you cannot do anything about these scars until six months after you stop taking Accutane.
Accutane is most definitely a risk, and it is by no means a guaranteed cure. You'll probably notice reduced acne, but its full effects are seen six months after you stop taking this treatment. During those six months, your acne will either come back to haunt you or you will be acne free.
