Adding Luster to Damaged or Dry Hair the Healthy Way
Written by shane molliwan
When your hair is frizzy, tangled, and lackluster, that’s usually because it is drying out and needs to be moisturized. Dry, lackluster, or damaged hair can result from a lack of appropriate moisture, and it’s possible to strip your hair of its ability to be fully hydrated just by washing it.
The usual procedure that many people follow is to wash their hair with a shampoo, then follow it up with a conditioner in order to rehydrate it. So the hair is stripped of its natural oils and then filled with other chemicals in order to reproduce its initial body. Many shampoos and conditioners contain chemicals that could be considered unhealthy. Sodium sulfate, for instance, has been shown through various studies to be potentially hazardous to one’s immune system and cause skin problems. When combined with other chemicals, sulfates can even present more potentially harmful results by turning into nitrosamines, which are carcinogens that promote the absorption of nitrates.
The need to both provide your hair with hydration and conditioner in order to make your hair softer and more manageable is too often in conflict with the use of chemicals that can actually damage your hair. Multiple sulfates and other detergents in a product that are present in order to clean your hair may actually diminish the shampoo’s effectiveness in providing moisture and fullness to your hair. A more natural approach to a moisturizing shampoo can be found through the use of products that contribute to your hair hydration and vitality without presenting any kind of danger to you or your hair.
You Huang Zi, otherwise known as Sapindaceae, comes from the soap nut tree, and contains properties that allow it to help make your hair more robust when used in a natural moisturizing shampoo. Its properties produce a natural froth that acts as a detergent to both clean and emolliate your hair. This basically means that the ingredients in a natural moisturizing shampoo that uses You Hang Zi extract from the soap nut tree will soften your hair, giving it a fuller, healthier look, while preventing tangles, frizz, and lackluster hair.
Some of the additional properties of a natural ingredient such as You Huang Zi used in a moisturizing shampoo are that while it hydrates your hair, it also has natural anti-fungal properties and can leave your scalp itch-free and without dandruff. Not only does it help make your hair softer while hydrating, but it can also act as an agent that kills fungi and bacteria, which can cause a multitude of irritating or serious conditions on your head and scalp.
