One of the renowned universities in India and outside, it is a dream for many to take admission in Delhi University. The standard of teaching is really high and the University is also known for its high standard research. As per the data obtained from the official website of Delhi University (DU) there are 77 colleges, 86 academic departments, 16 faculties and 5 other recognized institutes across the city, with 132435 students in enrolled in regular programs and 261169 students in non-formal education programs. DU has gradually developed into one of the largest universities in India. Apart from several undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses, there are many colleges with Delhi University affiliation that offer professional courses as well.

Apart from Indian students there are many NRI students who come from different countries to seek admission in the various courses. With so much competition, getting admitted in the colleges of this University is not easy at all. The result of the entrance tests and the marks obtained in higher secondary examination are the determining factors of eligibility in the colleges. The status of Centers of Advanced Studies has been awarded to Geology, Chemistry, Sociology, History and Zoology, these five departments.

Eligibility criteria for admission in colleges of DU

There are separate cut off marks and admission criteria in each of the colleges of DU. Depending on the colleges the students are applying for, they need to check the eligibility criteria separately.

Time of admission in Delhi University
For undergraduate courses the sale and receipt of application forms are done generally between 1st June and 15th June of every year. Forms are available both online and offline. Online registration is also possible.

For Foreign Students

For foreign students seeking admission in Delhi University, forms are available online which they can fill up properly and mail or send it through post. Those eligible are given provisional admission letter. rnThere is no age limit for the foreign students for undergraduate and post graduate courses.

Students going for regular programs can choose any stream viz Science, Arts, Commerce based on what their subject of study was in the higher secondary. To get admission in Delhi University, students should not only get high percentage in the 10+2 examination, but also have to successfully clear their entrance exams if any.
