After launching alcohol-functionalized pheromones and aldehyde-functionalized pheromones in the previous months, the US-based chemical supplier Alfa Chemistry recently announced the release of carboxyl-functionalized pheromones for researchers worldwide.

Over the past cascade, insect pheromones have exhibited intriguing potential in pest management and insect trace track. Serving as effective tools to monitor and manage pests, pheromone dispensers and pheromone baited traps have become common practices. The insect pheromone family shares a wide range of advantages such as high activity, strong specificity, no environmental pollution, unharmed to natural enemies, etc.

“Based on different chemical structures, insect parapheromone can be divided into different types. Carboxyl-functionalized pheromones refer to pheromones that contain carboxyl functional groups.
