All About Inflammations In The Stomach

Asacol is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of inflammations in the stomach. This medication belong to the group of medicines that is known as anti-inflammatory medication as this medicine is used for the treatment of inflammations. Asacol medication is used for inflammations of the stomach, which makes it a perfect medication for ulcerative colitis, proctosigmoiditis and proctitis, as well as Crohn’s disease. The main ingredient of this medicine is Mesalamine (5 - Aminosalicylic Acid). This medicine can be used for other medical conditons as suggected by doctor or health care professional.
Prescription For Asacol medicine
As Asacol is a prescription medicine, so few important precaution needs to be taken to avoid some serious side effect. Precaution needs to be taken are as follows:-
1) Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to it or to its ingredient.
2) Do not use asacol medication even if you are allergic to mesalamine or to aspirin or other salicylates.
3) You should inform your doctor if you are suffering from a stomach condition called pyloric stenosis, liver disease, heart disaese, kidney disease and a history of allergy to sulfasalazine, before taking asacol medicine.
4) If you have severe stomach pain, cramping, fever, headache, and bloody diarrhea, you should immediately stop taking medicine and consult your doctor as soon as possible.
5) Pregnant and breastfeeding mother should not use this medicine as use of this medicine may harm the health of unbo
baby or nursed child.
Side effects
Medicines and their possible side effects can affect individual people in different ways. Common side effects that people may experience are abdominal pain, diarrhea and vomiting, nausea, excess gas in the stomach, headache, dizziness, allergic skin rashes, worsening of colitis symptoms, pain in the muscles or joints, inflammation of the pancreas, inflammation of the liver, kidney problems and decreases in the normal numbers of blood cells in the blood.
As it is a prescription medicine so it should be taken as prescribed by the doctor or health care professional. Take this medicine with full glass of water with or without food. Follow the instruction given by the doctor. Do not increase or decrease the dose of the medicine on your own as it may lead to serious side effect. Do not crush, break, or chew a Asacol tablet. Swallow the tablet whole.
Try to take the medicine at the same time each day. It is so, so that you do not miss your dose. If in case you miss your dose you should take the medicine as soon as you remember. Store But please note that if it is the time for next dose you should avoid taking your missed dose and continue with your dosing schedule. Store asacol medicine at room temperature away from light, heat and moisture. Keep all medicines away from the reach of children and pet.
