I know I’m not the only person with this love-hate relationship with my career.

As an entrepreneur, I can say I LOVE MY JOB! I really, truly love it!

As an entrepreneur, I can say I’VE BECOME A WORK-A-HOLIC! But I don’t care, and my husband does not care. We see the rewards. We reap many already.

As an entrepreneur, I can say I MAKE THE RULES!

As an entrepreneur, I can say I’M ACCOUNTABLE FOR ALL MY MISTAKES. I don’t make many, but we live and learn, don’t we?

As an entrepreneur, I can say I AM RESPONSIBLE SOLELY FOR MY SCHEDULE. I therefore work all the time because I CHOOSE TO, I LOVE TO…and I must!

As an entrepreneur, I can say I DON’T FOLLOW THE PAC, but rather, I’m a leader of a pac…my pac!

As an entrepreneur, I can say MOST PEOPLE DON’T GET ME! But I’m okay with that. I live my life, my way, pay my bills my way…and have freedom they will never understand.

An entrepreneur has this love-hate relationship with our careers. And I don’t mean the typical love-hate you have as an employee, or that love-hate you suffer during your summer family reunion. It’s so much different when you are solely responsible for income, expenses, customer service, production, etc.

Yes, we entrepreneurs carry a lot of weight on our shoulders.

Yes, we entrepreneurs take a lot of risk.

Yes, we entrepreneurs work very hard at what we do.

But in the end, we love it!

If we have any choice – whether it be from a business that is ‘painfully’ booming, or one that has completely crashed….we would – quite seriously – do it all over again, and again. Because we DO get it right, eventually. We do! And when we do…the rewards outweigh the pain, struggles, stresses, glares and the “I told you so’s” dramatically!

Entrepreneurs never give up! We simply get up, brush ourselves off…and move onto the NEXT!

I LOVE MY JOB.

I LOVE THE GROWTH, I LOVE THE OPPORTUNITY!

But…I hate the PAIN of the job.

I hate the PAIN of the growth, and I hate the PAIN of the opportunity that pours in my door screaming more growth. Oh Lord…what to do with the growth? Where to go?

I hate the decisions…and the mistakes that come with the decision.

But I’ll make the mistakes to make the growth. Because in the end – - entrepreneurs succeed and we succeed big!

And we truly love our careers!

But guess what? I’m also an ex-athlete. Specifically a competitive martial artist. I therefore can testify the old cliche’….no pain = no gain!

And I know any entrepreneur can testify the same cliche’!

Any entrepreneur can testify to these same obstacles, and these same success challenges. And those same entrepreneurs would tell you to keep going, never give up, never listen to negativity...you will succeed! It's an adventure. One you should never give up on. One that will reward you greatly when you reach the summit!
