Anti-wrinkles regimes aren't just for the middle aged and elderly. If you are in your twenties and want to 'prevent' wrinkles, then you best start carrying out a few actions before those wrinkles appear.

Some practices need to be carried out on a daily basis where some only need to be done once a week.

#1 Deep Polish and Cleanse

Everyday should start with a good cleanse. Don't use soap and water as water straight from the tap is too harsh and the soap will be full of chemicals and fragrances which are damaging to your skin.

Choose a cleanser that is suited to your skin type whether that be sensitive, dry or oily skin. Get some soft cotton wool and go over your face twice with the cleansing solution.

The Liz Earle skin care range has a fantastic product call the 'Cleanse and Polish' which is a cream cleanser that you rub gently into your skin and then wipe it off with warm water and the muslin cloth that is provided with the product.

#2 A Gentle Exfoliation

This can be done only once a week but it can be done on a daily basis if you desire.

Exfoliation is a great way to get rid of dead skin cells from your face. Your skin sheds it old cells and brings in new skin cells every 15-30 days or so. If you don't exfoliate at all then the old skin cells will accumulate leaving your face looking 'grey' in tone.

Once you have exfoliated you will notice that you will have a lovely pink healthy glow about you. This is because your new skin cells are in their prime!

Dermalogica do a great exfoliant called the 'Daily Microfoliant'. This product encourages you to exfoliate on a daily basis with their very mild, but very effective microfoliant made from rice.

#3 Serums and Creams

Once you have cleansed and exfoliated, your skin will have no dirt, grime or make-up on it and the pores in your skin will be susceptible to what goes on it next.

You are now going to put on an anti-wrinkle serum only on the areas where you have (or will get) wrinkles. Normally this is around the eyes, mouth and brow.

There are so many serums on the market that it is hard to choose which one to get. I would recommend to get one that contains retinol and/or copper peptides in it.

Then after you have dabbed on your serum get a good creamy moisturiser and rub it gently into your face, neck and chest to hydrate your skin.

Your skin should always be hydrated, so if it every feels dry, apply your moisturiser. This should be done morning and night.
