Anti Aging Treatments
Written by Joe Moore
Nobody likes the idea of growing older. The body begins to suffer aches that weren't there before. The hair loses its shine, turns grey or thins out. Fine lines and wrinkles appear on what once was smooth skin. There is no cure for aging. But that certainly doesn't mean you have to let the symptoms take over!
Anti aging treatments can range from quick fixes to long term solutions. Poor diet, lack of exercise and sun exposure can all accelerate the signs of aging. Therefore, on your quest for a youthful appearance, taking care of your health and your body must come first.
Eat Well, Sleep Well, Breath Well
A well balanced diet consists of proteins, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, dairy and water. A daily vitamin supplement will never replace proper nutrition. Cutting out fatty foods, high sodium, sugary or deep fried and fast foods will not only keep you healthier but will make you look better.
Your body will naturally prioritize what it needs most. Improper diets force your body to use nutrients to combat damage caused by unhealthy foods. However, if you eliminate the damaging foods, your body will use the nutrients to strengthen organs, maintain muscles and keep hair, skin and nails healthy and strong.
Your body is made up mostly of water, so it's critical to keep your fluid levels up. If your lips are dry, your skin is itchy or your finge
ails are brittle, your body is telling you to drink more water. Applying lip balm might help your lips heal, but the true remedy comes from the inside.
Your body also does most of its healing and regenerating while you sleep. A full nights sleep not only helps you feel better, but allows your body to do its job of rebuilding tissue, repairing damaged cells and relaxing muscles. Besides, nothing adds to puffy eyes and wrinkled skin faster than skimping on sleep. If people are commenting about how tired you look, it's time to increase your sleep time.
Fresh air and exercise stimulates blood flow and circulation, which is good for your health and your appearance. A brisk walk adds colour to dull skin and brightens the eyes. It also helps increase your oxygen supply in the red blood cells, which your body needs to fight the signs of agin.
Regardless of the season, make sure you wear sunscreen to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun. Last but not least, if you're a smoker you are adding ten years to your skin. Quit. Now.
Rejuvenating Treatments
Once you've got the basics down, there are many anti aging treatments that can help you combat problem areas. Facials, skin stimulation and other treatments are available to boost your skins appearance and kick start the anti aging process.
Daily cleansing and moisturizing of the face and skin is a must for anti aging. Weekly treatments, such as a deep hydrating mask or facial peel can accelerate the reduction of wrinkles, age spots and skin damage. Topical vitami
C treatments are a great way to increase the elasticity of the skin, reducing the look of lines. It also gives your skin that natural healthy glow and helps combat dark under eye circles.
It took time for the wrinkles to start to appear, and it will take time for them to diminish. While there are no anti aging treatments that will turn back the clock ove
ight, with a little diligence and attention to diet and lifestyle, you can not only prevent many of the symptoms of looking older, but reverse some of the damage that has already been done
