Chronic fatigue syndrome is a condition which affects the recovery of person after a physical or mental activity. Usually after tiring ones self, a person need a few hours or a day of relaxation to get back to normal. However severe fatigue could last for a long period of time it the person in question is suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome. In addition to severe exhaustion the person may also have symptoms such as an damaged memory or reduced concentration, a sore throat, feel muscle pain, get new headaches, not be able to have a refreshing sleep or have post-extertional malaise which would last more than a day. In the way of chronic fatigue syndrome treatment mush research has been carried out. Earlier, it was firmly believed that chronic fatigue syndrome was a psychologically based disease but experts now are of the opinion that it is a physical illness. The treatment for it is varied and depends on symptoms that are present since there is no solid evidence on the causes of chronic fatigue syndrome. The most frequent methods used are to treat patients with trycilic ssri antidepressants or selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. One of the methods used today as treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome is exercise. It is believed that when a person is physically not active for a long period of time, it can lead to chronic fatigue syndrome becoming worse as it weakens the immune system, had a negative effect on a personís mood and also energy level. Despite not producing any conclusive results doctors sill recommend exercise as a treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome. The type of cure used for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome differs from case to case, depending on the patientís symptoms as well as their genetic disposition. Also, treating the patients symptoms individually can improve his/her quality of life and enable the person to live a relatively normal life, managing to cope with chronic fatigue syndrome. Chronic fatigue syndrome treatment is one that is being highly researched and investigated today. As there is no certain cure for this syndrome, it is a subject of much debate and interestAt present the best that can be done is to manage the syndrome, so hopefully the future will lead to a finding in which a cure that can eliminate it can be found.
