In today’s hectic life, we often forget to eat the correct food at the correct time. This leads to a lot of complications with more and more people getting conditions ranging from hair fall to heart diseases at a very young age.

Omega 3 fats – they are basically fats that are not produced by the body and thus have to be included in the diet we take. Omega 3 rich foods have enormous health benefits such as protection against heart disease, anti-inflammatory properties and attention and behavioral improvements in children. Omega 3 rich foods are essential for the growth and development, especially of brain functions.
The various foods that are rich in Omega 3 include fish, olive oil, flaxseed oil and soya beans among others. All these sources are extremely rich in Omega 3 and contribute to a balanced diet. One thing that we need to keep in mind is that even with these foods, it is important to keep away from frying as a lot of oil simply negates the nutritious effect of the Omega 3 rich food. Oils rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids should be stored in dark glass. In addition, these oils should never be heated on the stove.
Apart from the natural sources, there are also other brands which give out solutions to cover up the shortage of Omega 3 rich foods in our diets. There are a variety of options for non vegetarians and for those who do not eat fish, one of the main sources of Omega 3 rich foods, there are a variety of products which are free from the toxins that fish may contain. While buying these supplements, we need to ensure that they are also are free from mercury, lead, cadmium and other heavy metals in its products. We must be careful though that any supplements that are taken should be taken under supervision, so that any side effects can be avoided.
We have a wide variety of options in our life to eat healthy and we need to ensure that the Omega 3 rich foods are a part of our daily diet, so we can keep away the health issues related to our lifestyle.
