When examining the processes and situations in our lives, people often look for a system that is responsible for our life processes and why is it that they experience the specific situations of their lives. Disciplines such as theology, psychology and philosophy and most spiritual doctrines address this question, proposing a wide range of approaches.

The Fatalistic outlook de-powers people as managers of their life. In this situation people are victims of fate or of an otherwise uncontrollable force that affects their life journey.

Believing in a higher intelligence opens the option of influencing one's life conditioned on the higher intelligence being accessible, comprehendible and in dialogue with man.

Holistic philosophy discusses three essential principles; the vital energy the principle of oneness and the principle of personal development.

The Vital aspect is the force that rules nature in all its glory. It is the source of all beings and is what animates matter. In the realm of the vital force all living forms exist in oneness. This is the meaning of oneness.

This implies that man is a micro-cosmos of the macro-cosmos going on outside him, therefore can connect to the forces that influence his reality. Life processes are in accordance with the universal laws of nature. Specifically, what is going on in the outside world is a reflection of what is going on inside him.

One of the most basic principles in the universe is growth. What doesn’t evolve- dies. Seeds that fail to germinate- die. Fetuses that fail to develop into babies- die. New Technologies take the place of old technology which eventually become irrelevant and vanish. Everything from body cells to societies must grow into order to survive.
Projecting this principle onto man implies that people must evolve to thrive.

Physical growth as well as processes of mental and emotional maturation are the obvious manifestations of this basic evolutionary tendency. Nevertheless there is an additional level that suggests huge potential for human growth. One that although very subtle, is nonetheless extremely important for the establishment of health and wellness. This is the development of the Self. Although much more elusive and harder to quantify, this process of personal growth influences one's quality of life to a great extent.

At its core level, the Self is energy. It is an element of our deepest spiritual being; the life force. As such it is subject to the laws of energy. Energy has a magnetic aspect that draws other energies based on the law of resonance and dissonance.

Practically speaking this implies that we draw those people and situations into our lives that fit our energy vibration. This is the cause of what is know as "the mirror affect", which refers to the alignment between our external and internal worlds.

Energy also holds information. The Self holds information regarding individual personality, thought and emotional patterns and by virtue of the specific level of vibration reflects specific levels of consciousness. We attract things that either resemble or are opposite to us.
The principle of energy attraction acts in accordance with the essential natural strive for development and for that reason what we attract is always aligned with our evolutionary missions. As a result the processes and events of our lives are designed to direct us to our evolutionary lessons and inspire us to evolve.

This approach is extremely useful. Living in accordance with the universal laws poses the possibility of connecting to and living out one's truth. It also creates the likelihood to create a life of awareness by utilizing life events as compasses to what needs modification within.
Taking on this evolutionary approach significantly raises the potential of self- realization and genuine well-being.
