These root vegetables are easy to digest and ideal for babies who are just starting on solid foods.

It is important to prepare and store your baby’s foods properly. Never forget to wash your hands before and after preparing your baby’s meal. Diseases are usually acquired from improper food handling and preparation. Store your baby’s foods in tight-sealed containers. Do not keep them too long inside the refrigerator. Dispose them as soon as you see microbial build-up on your baby’s foods and containers.
3. Recognize the foods your baby is allergic with.
It is best to start your baby with solid foods that do not provoke allergic reactions. Root vegetables, cereals, bananas, apples, and rice will be your best bets. These foods are less likely to contain allergens that may trigger allergic reactions. To diagnose food allergy, check for signs and symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, skin irritation, and swelling of the throat. Familiarize yourself with foods that have high allergen contents. One of the most allergy-causing food products for babies is cow’s milk proteins. Peanuts and eggs are also among the top food products that can cause allergic reactions to babies. During his first months on solid foods, avoid recipes with ingredients such as cheese, chocolate, yogurt, peanut-based products, and eggs.
4. Check the ingredients of food recipes for your baby.
Before making meals for your baby, checkout the ingredients included on his baby food recipes. Pay attention to those that may provoke allergy, indigestion, and lactose intolerance. To avoid incidences of food allergy, avoid recipes with ingredients such as milk, peanuts, and eggs. Indigestion will less likely to occur if you feed your baby with meals made of root vegetables, rice, and cereals. Prevent lactose intolerance by avoiding meals out of food recipes with ingredients like cheese and milk-based products.

Take note of the nutrients your baby gets in every meal. Consider those recipes with ingredients that are high in fat, to sustain his energy, and rich in fiber, to prevent indigestion. Check the amount of vitamins and minerals he gets in every food. Continue breastfeeding him up to two years of age.
