Piles or mulvyadh are swollen blood veins near the anal area. These are basically of two types internal and external haemorrhoids. Internal haemorrhoids are found in the lower rectum and external haemorrhoids are developed under the skin around the anal area. External haemorrhoids are more uncomfortable and painful as compared to the external ones.
What are the causes of piles?
The main causes of piles are pregnancy, chronic constipation, obesity, straining during bowel movements. Piles occur due to increased pressure on the anal area.
What are the treatment options for piles?
Physical Activities: Piles can be cured by doing physical activities such as exercising, walking.
Sitz Bath: Sit in warm water for at least 10-15 minutes after each bowel movement. It will give relief from the pain of piles.
Increase fiber-rich diet and fluid intake: This will help to get relief from constipation. As constipation is one of the reasons for piles.
Surgical Treatments: Piles have four grades; grade 1, grade 2, grade 3 and grade 4. Grade 1 and grade 2 can be cured using medication or physiotherapy also. Otherwise, LHP (Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty) is used if not cured using medications. LHP is a minimally invasive and painless laser treatment for piles. Grade 3 and grade 4 are treated using MIPH (Minimally invasive procedure for haemorrhoids). In both the procedures, there are no cuts, no stitches, zero blood loss, and negligible recurrence rate.
