Blood Pressure Meds are Fat Fertilizer
Written by Shane Ellison, M.Sc.
Not all prescription drugs are bad. Some are really bad, like the drugs used to lower your blood pressure. Among the top ten drugs prescribed in the U.S, blood pressure (hypertension) medications ensnare millions into the prescription drug trap. That trap kills 200,000 and injures close to 2.2 millio
Americans every year. Fortunately, very few people suffer from the fabricated disease of hypertension and therefore do not require drug treatment. In the rare instance that it might put someone at risk of early death, improved lifestyle habits and natural medicine can help beat it.
Fat Fertilizer
Like Miracle Grow™ on plants, drugs such as Toprol-XL™, Lopressor™ (metoprolol), Tenormin™ (atenolol) and Coreg™ (carvedilol) serve as fat fertilizer to the human body. As a result, patients who “follow doctor’s order’s” and swallow these “beta-blockers” and “diuretics” are at a 28 to 50% greater risk of suffering from type II diabetes – the greatest health challenge of the 21st century.
Other Deadly Side-Effects
Calcium channel blockers such as Adalat, Procardia™ (nifedipine), and Norvasc™ (amlodipine) are not safe alternatives. By blocking calcium from entering the heart, users are put at greater risk of dying from heart failure. Cancer is also a possibility. In 1996, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) warned that, “Postmenopausal women who took calcium channel blockers had twice the risk of developing breast cancer than other women.” No diet, supplement or lifestyle can save you from the deadly side-effects of blood pressure meds. Fortunately, we don’t need them to avoid the dangers of “high” blood pressure.
The Fabricated Illness
High blood pressure as defined by the drug industry and medical doctors is not an instant death sentence! The goal of maintaining a blood pressure at or near 140/80 or more recently 115/75 is based on drug company hype, not science. These numbers are designed to sell drugs by converting healthy people into patients.
Rising blood pressure is a normal process of aging and does not require drug intervention – even when it reaches 140/80. Medical literature shows that as we age blood pressure rises slightly to accommodate for an increased demand of oxygen and nutrients. And this rise does not put us at any risk of early death. It is completely natural for the first number (systolic) to be 100 plus our age. If blood pressure rises slightly above this parameter, it can be controlled naturally with key lifestyle habits and nutritional supplements.
Key Lifestyle Habits that Control Blood Pressure – Free Workout
Forget about the salt myth to lower blood pressure, eliminating sugar and artificial flavors is among the best things you can do to obtain a relatively normal blood pressure. Replacing carbohydrate (bread, pasta, excess fruit) consumption with healthy fats such as coconut oil, grass fed beef, wild salmon, avacados, seeds and nuts will also help while eliminating unsightly belly fat. And finally, interval training one to three times per week is vital for a healthy cardiovascular system (get a free workout by sending an email to healthmyths@getresponse.com).
Blood pressure can rise to temporary extremes in response to stress, infection, fasting, dehydration or simply from walking into a doctor’s office. Temporary high blood pressure does not rationalize a lifetime of drug use.
Stopping Heart Disease with Artery-Preserving Molecules
Chronic high blood pressure can be dangerous. This usually occurs when blood vessels become stiff due to hardening of the arteries (heart disease). Blood pressure can skyrocket to 200/100.
In situations where high blood pressure might become life threatening, using cardiovascular nutrients such as L-arginine, magnesium aspartate and a 95% grape seed extract can be a potent natural remedy. Based on Nobel Prize winning science, these artery-preserving molecules increase the production of nitric oxide. This molecule allows for the dilation and relaxation of arteries. Using cardiovascular nutrients can prevent heart attack and stroke that may result from impeded blood flow or inflammation caused by rising blood pressure.

Blood pressure medications are made to sell not heal – they cater to fear not health. If you understand this, you’ll avoid the deadly prescription drug trap.

What Does a Podiatrist Do on Your First Visit?
A first podiatry appointment is far less clinical than most people expect. It typically starts with a conversation about your medical history and the specific problem you're dealing with, followed by a look at your footwear, how you stand and walk, and a hands-on assessment of the affected area.
