Boils The Cause and Common Boils Treatment
Written by Rachel Cole
Are you reading this article because you're suffering from boils and need to find a good boils treatment? If so, read on because this article provides information on what causes boils and it discusses the most reliable ways to get rid of boils. If you're looking for a good boil treatment, you're reading the right article.
Boils are advanced forms of staff infections deep under the skin. They consist of a wall of swollen, sore tissue around a center containing pus. Pus is comprised of bacteria, white blood cells and usually some foreign matter. The bacteria and white blood cells in pus are mostly dead.
Generally, a foreign particle such as a dead hair follicle or dirt in a pore or even some toxic material may get lodged under the skin. This creates a vulnerable place in the skin for staff bacteria to attack. Bacteria will attack a weak spot on a living body in hopes of gaining access to the inside of the body. If the body cannot easily kill the bacteria and remove the foreign matter, then the result is a boil. Usually a good boils treatment is required to get rid of boils.
The body defends itself by gorging the surrounding tissue with blood to create a wall around the affected area. Because the tissue is swollen, or stretched, it hurts. White blood cells flood the area, killing the bacteria. The result forms a yellowish white liquid called pus. Pus is basically dead white blood cells and bacteria. The body continues to swell the tissue surrounding the pus, putting pressure on it in an attempt to push it out through the surface of the skin. Usually, by the time the infection has escalated to a boil, the pus has hardened into a solid and therefore cannot be removed easily.
If a boil treatment is not applied and the body cannot naturally get rid of it, the bacteria may penetrate through the wall and gain access to the interior of the body through the blood stream. This is a very serious condition called sepsis, or blood poisoning. Blood poisoning can be fatal. If a victim suffers from recurring boils that is a sign that they may have blood poisoning, at least to some degree. A strong boils treatment must be employed in a case like this.
Soaking a boil in salt water, or applying a good salve or ointment can help. The idea is to kill the bacteria while softening the skin. Another good boil treatment technique would be to lance the boil. That means cutting or puncturing the boil in the center and then squeezing or digging the pus out of the wound. Be sure to employ a health professional for lancing procedures.
The best boil treatment available is to work on improving the body's immune system. You can easily do that by taking vitamins A, B, C, D and E. Especially take high concentrations of C. You can get D by spending some time in the Sun. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of clean water. Doing this will help get rid of boils and will help you feel better and be a happier person in general.
