Bone Disorder that Affects the Normal Remodeling Process of Bone

Osteoporosis is a disease that cause weak and fragile bones by low bone mass and loss of bone tissue. The person suffering from this problem have an increased risk for fractured bones (broken bones) mainly in hip, spine and wrist. It is a most common bone disorder in elderly patients and Paget's disease is the second most common bone disorder in elderly patients. Paget's disease is a bone disorder that affects the normal remodeling process of bone. Generally, in normal bone the bone constantly remodel. Remodeling process is the process in which old bones removed and new bone is formed.
Causes of Paget's diseaser
Researcher are of the view that the causes of this diseases is uncertain. It is also considered that Paget's disease also has genetic link but it is not confirmed yet. Several theories have been suggested it may be cause due to viral (such as paramyxovirus including canine distemper virus, measles and respiratory syncytial virus).
Symptomsr
It is very hard to believe that most people suffering from this diseases do not have any symptoms. If some one has the symptoms of this disease that common disease can be joint pain, low back pain and other less common symptoms includes fractures, muscles weakness, bowing deformities of the bones, headache and hearing loss
Treatmentr
There are various and number of medicines are available in the market to treat Osteoporosis and Paget's disease. Fosamax is the best and trusted medicine recommended by the doctor or health care professional. It is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of Osteoporosis and Paget's disease. Its main ingredient is Alendronate Sodium. It comes in tablet form and available by both generic and brand name. For women recommended dosage is 5mg daily and 35mg once in a week. For Paget patient the dosage recommended is 40mg everyday. If you are allergic to this medication or to its ingredient avoid taking Fosamax.
