Brooklyn Self Storage Units-Don't Get Locked In...Literally

How Not to Get Locked in Brooklyn Storage Units Of course on this specific day it was late and raining. I mean all scary stories start like this right? Well no exaggeration it was a pretty torrential down pour and I blame that rain for why I got locked in my Brooklyn self storage unit. I was on my way home from work when my spouse called and asked if I minded stopping by the Brooklyn storage facility and bringing some items over to the new house we'd just moved into. I was a little bothered at the request since it already starting to rain and it looked like a downpour was on its way. . I made sure I got as close to our unit as I could so I could try and out run the rain. I let myself inside and grasped my first batch of items and quickly carried them back to my truck. The next trip didn't go so well, as it was now pouring and lightning so I determined to wait and let it end. Our Brooklyn self storage unit was up on a hill so no water was flooding in to the unit, however I was feeling a few sprays of water so I decided to close the door. Before you are convinced that was just completely stupid, know that there are outlets in these Brooklyn storage units so I plugged in a lamp for some light. I allowed 15 minutes pass before I went to reach for my key to leave, oh yeah my key that vital little thing. I'm sure you have comprehended by now that I no longer had the key with me. While running from the unit to the car I obviously had lost it. At first I began to freak out, abruptly feeling a wave of extraordinary claustrophobia come on. Fortunately, my cell phone had not come out of my jacket. My husband, once he gained his composure again from laughing so uncontrollably, came to my rescue. Apparently the little key fell out and was on the opposite side of the door. My husband then joked that the key was not going to work and I was really trapped until he understood I learned my lesson and won't do it again. Word of advice is always make sure you have your key to your Brooklyn self storage unit before you shut the door!
