BT now stakes claim in TV and broadband pies

This is probably one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world and serves 170 different countries across a number of continents. What was once a previous focus on phone services has now extended to supplying television and broadband services in order to keep up with stiff completion being provided by other communication giants.

British telecom was once synonymous with providing telecommunications solutions to offices and homes alike. In fact millions of us currently must lay claim to a BT Phone installed by one of their dedicated engineers.

British telecom has been recognised with provided the majority of homes with phone connections. Even if your home or flat is done via broadband, you can be rest assured that BT will be involved at some stage of the process.

However BT does not just provide a range of telephone packages. Thanks to the relentless competition being provided by Virgin Media, Talk Talk and of Sky, they have had to keep pace with other companies.

For example, Sky have rolling up to the minute news and 24 hour updates thanks to Sky News and unrivalled sports coverage with more than 100 games from the Barclays Premier League featuring all the top pundits including former Manchester United defender Gary Neville and ex Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

BT Vision offer the chance for people to pause, record and rewind live TV and have a range of movies and content from the comfort of their sofa. They also have access to series and drama collections ensuring you will not miss a single episode.

They claim to offer you more than 7,000 different shows with 28 movies being released every month onto their set top box.

And thanks to freeview TV, you will be able to view up to to 40 different channels and approximately 30 radio stations on the 160GB hard drive.

You can also store a range of programmes on the set top box that amounts to over 80 hours’ worth of viewing.

There are also add on channels such as music packages and entertainment channels but BT gives the flexibility to select from as many or as few channels as you wish whilst benefiting from the company’s outstanding telecommunication deals.
