CNNMoney issued a list of American cities with five or more Fortune 500 headquarters on May 23, 2011. The only city in the list with six Fortune 500s is Cincinnati, with seven is Charlotte, and with nine is Minneapolis. The city with the second most number of Fortune 500s is Houston, which has 22 Fortune 500 headquarters. The number one spot is secured by New York City with 45 of America’s largest corporations – by far the most number of Fortune 500s that chose NYC to establish their headquarters in.
