I’ve been unfair with myself because it was the only thing I knew to do,
And I finally see why.
I’ve been unfair with myself in a desperate attempt to free myself of my guilt,
Because I knew no other way to rid myself of feeling guilty for the wrongs I’d done.
Now, I thoroughly understand why I have been unfair with myself,
Why human beings are so unfair with themselves.
It will not happen again because I’m no longer reactive to old feelings of shame
While assuming I’m proactive and making gains.
Everything harmful act in your past can be magically transformed into freedom
When you unburden yourself of past feelings of guilt,
And begin trusting yourself again.
By abandoning the foolish notion that you must pay for your past mistakes,
Then your dreams and aspirations - you may appropriate.
