Many people who have had an affair see their marriage collapse and end in divorce. However, there are undoubtedly a very significant number of people that have had one or more affairs and also remained happily married throughout this time. The difficulty is in compiling statistics because those people who have a successful (i.e. undiscovered) affair are typically invisible - they do not advertise the fact that they are having and affair, and don't show up in general statistics because they remain married. In reality, we only tend to hear about the affairs that result in marital breakdown for the simple reason that they become public knowledge through the divorce proceedings. An affair that is not discovered remains just that, undiscovered, and so there is likely to be at least as many successful affairs going on. It must, therefore hold true that if these affairs remain undiscovered and the marriage remains intact, then the affair has almost certainly provided the release for the partner that was needed to keep his or her home relationship on an even keel. It could be argued that without the release and excitement of the affair, the home relationship may have broken down completely. There are also many cases where the marriage has reached a point where the excitement and love have simply died away, and yet there are still enough reasons to stay together, e.g. there is still affection, maybe children, money, etc. All of these may mitigate against a divorce and total split, and yet the people involved may then be condemned to a life of sexless solitude. Again an affair can provide the love, and sexual outlet, without which the marriage could not survive. Of course, the definition of a successful affair is one that is not discovered, and this makes the choice of dating agency vital to ensure that as many safeguards are in place as possible. One such web site is www.secretmaritalaffairs.com a site that specialises in putting in place all of the security features that are needed to ensure that an affair remains secret and hence successful.n

The idea of making yourself more desirable by making yourself less available doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. After all, Juliet would have plunged a premature dagger into the heart of her romance with Romeo if she hid in her room rather than go out on her balcony. The end of Sleepless in Seattle shifts from "awww" to "aw, no" if one of the two main characters skips the trip to the Empire State Building. As these examples from fiction show, making yourself
