Yes, spirituality can certainly reduce anxiety and improve your life. Anxiety is a feeling of uneasiness, worry or fear. It is natural to experience an element of anxiety now and then. But when it becomes the norm and begins to affect the smooth functioning of our day-to-day life and our physical and mental well-being, then it is a huge problem as it takes away our peace of mind, leaving us feeling apprehensive all the time.

So, how can spirituality help reduce anxiety and improve our life, that too in every single circumstance and relationship?
Spiritual Science gives us the right understanding of ‘who am I’.

In the state of ignorance, we believe that the body and the name given to identify the body is me. Only when we receive the right spiritual knowledge, do we realize who I really am. This knowledge enables us to remain detached from the effects of the name and body, and constantly dwell in the domain of the real Self.

Anxiety occurs in the body, but we believe it is happening to me!Anxiety arises when you become the owner of something that is not yours. For example, if you enter someone else’s home without their permission, would you not be uneasy and nervous? You would be afraid that someone would get upset with you and throw you out. But if you are in your own home, would you have any uneasiness, fear, or apprehension? You would feel very comfortable and at peace in your own home.
When we acquire Self-realisation, we recognise our own home, our real Home.

The body or the name given to the body are not our true identity. Our real Self is the Soul that lies within the body. When we realize, ‘I am really a pure Soul’, we begin to become free from anxiousness, and thus through right understanding, learn to live a stress-free life.

With the grace of the Enlightened One (Gnani Purush), one can attain Self-realisation through a scientific process called Gnan Vidhi (a scientific experiment to impart Self Realisation, exclusive to Akram Vignan). At that time, through divine grace, one becomes aware of the Self.
The Gnani gives us the awareness that fear, worries and anxiousness are something that arises in the non-Self (the body and name), and not in the Self. So thereafter, the conviction that nothing can happen to the Soul gradually starts to set in and prevail in every single interaction.
When we roam in our ‘home’ (the Soul), there would not be any anxiety or uneasiness. Moreover, we experience freedom from the effects of mental, physical, and problems brought on by external factors.

After Self Realisation, we (being, Soul) will not stumble anywhere, will not have any stress, nothing from worldly life will affect us. Rather, we experience endless bliss within; even while the body feels anxious, we, the real Self, does not experience any suffering.

Even amidst the suffering imposed upon us by any external factor, we feel detachment from that suffering and experience the bliss of the Self. This is what Gnani Purush bestows unto us - a complete freedom from all kinds of suffering.

Author's Bio:

Ambalal M. Patel was a civil contractor by profession. In June 1958, spontaneous Self-Realization occurred within Ambalal M. Patel. From this point on, Ambalal became a Gnani Purush, and the Lord that manifest within him became known as Dada Bhagwan. A Gnani Purush is One who has realized the Self and is able help others do the same. Param Pujya Dada Bhagwan used to go from town to town and country-to-country to give satsang (spiritual discourse) and impart the knowledge of the Self, as well as knowledge of harmonious worldly interactions to everyone who came to meet him. This spiritual science, known as Akram Vignan, is the step-less path to Self-realization
