There are minor weaknesses, as you may see on the Canon SD880 review page, however this is a superb point-and-shoot camera, which for the spend involved, outshines the competitors easily.

It is dimensions are good too...

To start with there's an amazingly big screen on the Canon SD880 which takes up nearly the back of the camera! The screen itself is nice and shiny, and crystal clear. Which means even the on sunniest of days, you can still be able to get a good view of your shots. One thing that many other manufacturers actually fall down on.

6.3 ounces in weight it is nice and light. At 3.7 inches wide by 2.2 inches high by just 0.9 inch deep, it will perfectly slip comfortably in your coat pocket with ease. There are loads of smaller cameras out there than the SD880, but I reckon, if it slips into a coat pocket, it's small enough.

In comparison with the earlier model, the old SD870 IS, the new updated SD880 IS has the very newest version of Canon's image-processing engine, Digic 4 taking it from eight megapixels to an amazingly clear 10, which means if you'd like, you can easiy get huge prints with none of the normal loss of clarity.

It additionally now presents you a few extra "scene" modes. It's 4x f28-58 28-112mm lens is one of the highlights of the camera. You're getting a wide angle lense!

This is a nice selling point that Canon have used here.. and so nice to have, especially on a digicam that isn't a DSLR... A digicam as small as this one? That is exceptionally good. You are also getting a more powerful zoom than on the SD870, and a dramatically improved video mode, as Canon SD880 Powershot is now utilizing the H.264 codec as an alte
ative to the old Motion JPEG. Motion JPEG was good, but the H.264 codec makes an actual noticeable difference. Enough to warrant a special point out in my book.
The Canon SD880 Powershot is well worth buying!
