Carnival in Encarnacion 2011 (Carnavales Encarnacenos)

The official launch of Carnival in Encarnacion 2011 will be the day 28th December, 2010 at 20:00 pm in the Plaza de Armas at the city of Encarnacion Paraguay. Where will the election of King Momo, will present the music bands, Batucada and figures of the clubs compete. Encarnacion’s Carnival 2011 will take place in the days 4,5,11,12,18,19,25 and 26 February in the city Sambodromo Encarnacion Paraguay (Avenida Dr. Gaspar R. France). Encarnacion is the City of Carnival. Annually during February's Carnival takes total control of the Encarnacion city. During the afternoon of Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the streets people play carnival throwing water to anyone who crosses their path, either with balloons full of water jugs or buckets of water up and fantasy snow (usually is a game of men vs. women). At night, the Corsicans are carried out at the Avenida Rodriguez of France noted for its beautiful girls dancing to the beat of the music, wearing colorful costumes designed with feathers, sequins, glitter and all ornaments to wear. The celebration generally starts between 9 and 10 pm, but people start to go from 7 pm, it's advisable to put on lenses to avoid snowthrower in the eye, usually ends between 2 and 3 morning. Then people go to parties which are organized in many parts of the city such as discotheques and clubs. It is advisable to book well in advance the tickets and accommodation as during those dates it is just impossible to find available hotels simply because people from all over come to participate and see the Carnival.
