A well run, well maintained education department or education board holds the key to a smoothly run society free from corruption and chaos. Few of many such departments are Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), The UP Education board (Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board), The Board of Secondary Education,Andhra Pradesh etc.

The CBSE has been playing an important part in providing quality education all over India since decades. It conducts national level exams for secondary education, the National Teacher’s Eligibility Test, the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) and so on. It also conducts the National Informatics Olympiad, National Talent Search Examination which are the gateways for all the budding talents in India, a chance to get noticed on the national level. The first board under the CBSE was set up in 1921, The UP Board of High School and Intermediate Education. Since then, it has been evolving and improving under a well maintained, well built organizational structure. A self financing body, CBSE has 8979 schools under its jurisdiction as on 31-03-2007 including 141 schools in 21 countries. In order to execute its functions effectively Regional Offices have been set up by the
Board in different parts of the country to be more responsive to the affiliated schools.
The Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh is at present the biggest examining body in the world. The Board was set up in the year 1921 at Allahabad by an act of United Provinces Legislative Council. It conducted its first examination in 1923. This Board is one in India which, from the very start, had adopted 10+2 system of examination. The head office of the board is located at Allahabad. Presently, the Board is holding the examinations and preparing the results of nearly 32 lakh students.
The Board of secondary education of Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Pradesh Board) was set up in 1953 and till date the board has been working towards improving the education systems and is known for its quality education standards not just in India but also abroad.
These education boards like CBSE, UP board, Chhattisgarh board, have been instrumental in doing its job of providing quality education and conducting numerous number of examinations in various regions across India. Smoothly and effectively. The Boards and the people running these bodies deserve accolades for their effort.
