Cheap Commercial and Residential Electricity is the Cost of Energy Deregulation
Written by Jeremy Bills
From its inception in 2002, energy deregulation in Texas has been getting positive as well as negative feedback. There are numerous who want to keep this market going the way it's in practice, and then there are some others who want to go back to the regulated energy market. Question is, does deregulation of energy saves energy users or not with better services?
From its practice in the deregulated Texas energy market, it's obvious that CHEAP electricity or gas need not be re-invented. If there are people who are saving on their gas and electricity usage and they really do, I don't need to provide proofs for it as it's now an open secret and there are companies who are openly offering a certain amount of saving and you too know that. So, cheap commercial or residential electricityand gas is possible through energy deregulation i.e. deregulated energy market SAVES you money.
This market has brought POWER TO CHOOSE option. It was not there in practice before the inception of deregulated energy market. Power to choose is not a BAD thing introduced by deregulated market i.e. energy deregulation has multiple power and gas options for you and you're not restricted to a single option. This market also enables you to go for a single plan both for your electricity and gas usage.
This market allows you to go for a pay-per-use plan. If you're living in a single family flat, this market allows you to go for such a plan that accommodates your unique needs. So, you will never have to pay what is not justified or compatible with what kilowatts you consumed. Through this plan, you never pay more than your power and gas usage i.e. energy deregulation is LOGICAL.
This market also enables you to go either for a FIXED plan or for a VARIABLE one depending on your commercial or residential electricity or gas needs. This adds to the smart options you have got through this market i.e. energy deregulation is FLEXIBLE.
This is a snapshot of what energy deregulated market has brought for the people that live over there. It's true that we're living in a competitive atmosphere where there are multiple solutions for a single problem. So, survival of the fittest theory seems applicable here. If a practice brings you savings with better customer services, multiple switching options and multiple plans, what else could be a replacement?
