To Check Internet Speed you can take a test of your Internet any time you are connected to the Internet. This test is measured by the data being transferred to the computer from the Internet per second. To Check Internet Speed there are many ways: you can do it manually or by downloading an internet speed check tool from the internet.
Generally when we download music files, images or update any software the speed we get is higher then the speed we get while uploading an image or a video file. Hence, if you get slow speed while uploading the data, you are not getting sufficient Internet speed.
The Internet Speed Test Work in two ways: First is downstream test and another one is upstream test. Downstream is the speed at which you can download data over your Internet connection. Most of the Internet connection speed test begins by downstream testing that initialize by downloading of a packet of inert data and monitoring how long it takes for the file to finish downloading. The test provider then monitor the download speed by measuring that how many bytes per second are downloaded.
Another method involves testing the upstream i.e. the speed at which data can be transferred from your computer to a remote server. This test is generally performed by using the same inert data packet that had been used at downstream, so as not to risk incidentally uploading any files from your computer. In this method the speed is also calculated with the average speed being generated once the inert data file has been completely uploaded from our computer. Finally, you will get the result in bytes per second.
Another way to Check Internet Speed is by performing an Internet Speed test. For this, you have to go at any website that is providing an Internet Speed Test, then press Test or Start button and the Internet speed test will start working. After finishing, the processing it will display your Internet Speed Test result.
Once you have finished with upload and download speeds, it will display your average upload and download speeds in a graphical manner or can also display the direct results in digits.
Normally the upload speed is slower than download speed. So you can judge by comparing both the download and upload speed whether you are getting determined speed or not.
If you have a dial up Internet connection, you can check your Internet speed manually. To do this, right click on the Internet connection icon at your task bar. It will display a box that will show your Internet bandwidth speed. An another way to Check Internet Speed is that click on ‘Control Panel’ and click on ‘Network and Internet Connections’. Click on ‘Network Connections’ from the box. Then right click from your mouse and activate connection. Now click on ‘Status’ that will display your Internet speed.
