Cityville for Facebook
Written by louisstevens
The newest social game designed for Facebook is Cityville, and its maker, Zynga, believes it will break all the records set by Farmville, the most popular game on Facebook. They feel it will also outperform Zynga Poker and Mafia Wars. Interested parties have known something about Cityville for a time, but now the details and functionality are emerging. Now people are wondering just how the game is played.
Cityville has been described as having a wealth of experience for its players, and everyone also likes the name better than the other choices, which were Urban and Architectural. Your aim in the game is to create your own city and then manage it.
Cityville is being described as “Main Street meets Monopoly” by the manager of the game. The main question for others is whether Zynga will still provide for data of private players to leak into the hands of others, as has already happened in the past.
Facebook users will use their skill to build cities, instead of thriving and successful farms. After you build roads, schools, railroads and businesses, you can travel to other cities, and purchase businesses in that city, from other people who are playing. If the situation seems familiar, it may be due to its similarity to SimCity. The developers of Cityville will be structuring the play of the game, with the result that the players will virally market the Cityville game to their Facebook friends.
There will be two main revenue points on Facebook for Zynga. Any businesses from the real world that want to be featured in the game will have to be paying advertisers. And if a player desires it, they can be allowed to make Cityville purchases of communities and buildings with real money.
Experts have projected that Zynga now is worth about $5.5 billio
U.S. dollars. If their track record proves to be consistent, it may be indicative that Cityville will be worth even more. The game will be launched globally, which will allow anyone to build the city of their dreams. You can test drive the beta version, and it will debut in five different languages. This will be the first truly international launch of a game for Zynga.
While you are building your city, you can interact with the cities of your friends, and allow them to help you build franchises. The growth of your town in Cityville is yours to decide. This game is the most sprawling for Zynga, and allows players to grow their own thriving city, meet the citizens' needs, and run businesses and restaurants. Cityville also has 3D characters and buildings, making it their most interactive game thus far.
