First round Examination of the Civil Services Examination or the upsc is an examination for recruiting people for different posts in Indian administrative service, police service and Foreign Service. The Union Public Service Commission conducts this examination and eligible candidates can only attend it. There are eligibility criteria that the candidates must match with if they want to sit for the exam. Aspiring candidates must have a graduation degree from any government certified university of India. Candidates have to be minimum 21 years of age, with 30 years being the highest age limit, for sitting in the exam. Candidates can try to pass the exam four times within this age limit. The closing date for submitting online application is 5 March 2012 and date for Prelim examination is 20 May 2012. The application for Main examination must be submitted before August 2012. Civil Services Main Examination will be held on November 2012. The examination is divided into two parts. The first is objective type Civil Services Preliminary Examination. The final written and interview exam is Civil Services Main Examination. Candidates must apply online by paying the application fee online or by SBI bank account.

There are posts available for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Revenue Service in the year 2012. The Union Public Services Commission will select the candidates after clearing csat 2012 which is an exam for the eligible candidates. The csat or the Civil Services Aptitude Test is the first exam to select eligible candidates for the main exam. The exam will be held on June and you can find the exact date once they are released in all the major newspapers and in the official website of CSAT. The examination contains two papers with objective type question. Candidates will be chosen depending on the score of the exam but this score will not be included in the final exam. The first paper is on general knowledge when the second paper tests your skills that are required for the posts in concern.

The IAS prelims will be held on this year too. This examination is important for getting selected for the main IAS exam. The eligible candidates are selected for the main exam depending on their score in this exam. Candidates can apply online and selected ones will be notified about the exam dates.
