Use hydrogen peroxide for organic stains on a small area rug. This type of stain can be from spilled juice, wine, or food.  Try to clean the stain as soon as possible.  Put a plastic bag under the stain and soak the stain with hydrogen peroxide.  Leave it on for at least 10 minutes and then soak it with water.  Blot, but do not scrub, the area with paper towels until the area is dry.  The peroxide will get rid of almost any organic stain except for artificial colorings or dyes.
