Mention the word "criminal fraud’ and the first thing that comes to mind are people trying to trick people out of their hard earned money. Fraud in legal terms describes actions which are meant to harm others by misrepresenting or misinforming others for financial gain.

You might think that these activities are done by simple individuals but you might be surprised to know that most of the cases being filed today regarding criminal fraud are those which concern businesses and organizations. Of the two, the second is harder to prove since the cooperation of one who works in the organization is needed to prove a claim.

The newest type of fraud being committed today in the United Kingdom (and especially in London) is termed as online fraud. This is a direct result of people trying to take advantage of modern technology such as the internet to deceive people into buying non-existent products or items. It also involves the use of personal information like those found in credit cards to purchase goods or services.
