Common Body Flaws and Treatment Options
Written by Chris M Morris
Today, men and women manage to find any number of flaws on their bodies. From extra fat and cellulite to spider veins and stretch marks to body acne and dry skin, it seems there is no end to the types of flaws we see – and the products available to treat them. Here is a look at some of the most common body flaws men and women have.
Fat Pockets
Diet, exercise, and targeted strength training are the best ways to fight off areas of fat that have accumulated in our problem areas. However, many people choose to get an extra fat-busting boost from liposuction and other body contouring treatments such as Body by Thermage and VelaShape.
Cellulite
Whether you are skinny or overweight, you can acquire cellulite. The dimpled skin commonly affects our buttocks, thighs, abdomen, hips, flanks, and arms. Unfortunately, getting rid of cellulite is not easy. While diet and exercise can help prevent and treat cellulite, many women seek a simpler solution. Home remedies include rubbing coffee grinds on affected areas, while professional treatments include VelaShape treatment.
Excess Skin
Excess skin can accumulate after weight gain and weight loss. Because diet and exercise have little effect on excess skin, tummy tuck surgery is needed to surgically remove extra skin.
Stretch Marks
Stretching of the skin can cause stretch marks, and women are often affected by them following pregnancy. Cocoa butter cream can be used to prevent stretch marks, while laser stretch mark removal treatment is the most effective way to minimize their appearance.
Spiders Veins
Spider or varicose veins are unsightly and a cause of extreme embarrassment for people who have developed them. Sclerotherapy treatment can help diminish the appearance of veins.
Body Acne
Acne does not just affect the face – it can also develop on the back and other areas of the body. Men, women, and teens affected by body acne can use cleansers that contain salicylic acid or undergo body facials.
