Content is King - 3 Easy Steps to Re-purposing

I'm sure by now you're aware that content is a major component of online marketing and business. But how in the world are you to keep up with content requirements and actually run your business?

It can feel like a full time job some days. There is light at the end of the tunnel! We've created a content system that works great for our clients that takes the stress out of re-purposing.

Our 3 step system takes the work out of content creation and simplifies re-purposing. Let's take a look at how you can start using content you already have to grow your online presence.

Step 1: Gather the troops.

Take a look at all the content you already have, dust off those virtual shelves. What content can you pull from? Most entrepreneurs are sitting on a gold mine of content just waiting for you to re-purpose it. Here are 5 places to look for content:

  • Webinar Recordings
  • Teleseminar Audios
  • Transcripts
  • eBooks
  • Books You've Authored

Step 2: Reassign the soldiers.
All of the above goodies are jam-packed with extremely valuable content just waiting to take you farther online. You or your virtual assistant can go through each of these and pull out content for each of any of the following areas:

• Articles - a minimum of 400 word articles for online distribution
• Short 2-3 minute videos - to use on YouTube and then blog post, two for one!
• 140 character quick tips for Tweets
• Updates for your Facebook Business Page
• Engagement questions for your social media campaigns
• Blog Postsr
Step 3: Deploy the army.

Now you have this amazing content re-purposed, let's put it to use. Look at your editorial calendarand see how you want to plan out using your content.

Here are a few tips for more effective posts:

  • Keep keywords in mind when posting: social media posts are highly indexed by the search engines
  • Stay consistent: if you start submitting articles and posting blog posts, keep them coming
  • Make it conversational: end your blog posts with a question to encourage comments
  • Mention your content more than once: when you post a blog post, drip 3 or 4 more Tweets over the next week at different times of the day to really reach more of your followers
