Of course every employee, including employees who date each other compete at work for better salaries and promotions. When the woman gets higher salary raise or promotion, this may affect a man's ego and may also affect their romantic relationship. Things like this must be handled with maturity and better understanding of the situation. Couples must be professional about this and not emotional.

Relocation or reassignment may affect the relationship. In accepting relocation at work, a person who is dating an office mate may think many times before making a decision. He or she may reject a promising opportunity because of the relationship they could left behind.

There are many things that you have to consider when dating an office mate but despite the disadvantages, finding the person you could spend the rest of your life at work can be a good thing because you both know each other very well and you both can understand the demands and pressure of each other's job. Of course you both have to be professional not to mix work with personal life which is not easy.
