Dear Dr. Romance:

I hope that you will be able to help me with a problem that i find i now have. I meet a man on line and he and i are great together everything was going great then a ex girlfriend had him put in jail saying that he was stalking her when he was really just going to his brothers home who lives 5 houses down. When he got out everything changed he told me all about it and what was going on as did his sister in law who doesn’t like him but she did say that he wasn’t stalking her, any ways things have just went from 10 emails and cards and calls by phone 7 times a day to nothing he says he cant give me what i want and now he doesn't call me his  phone is broke now and he emails me things like " phone broke looking for new one have good day" i have to email him he doesn't do any thing any more. I love him and i want it to work but i dont know what to do. we live in different states. he talked about me living there us getting a house together and he said he loved me and now NOTHING! help my heart is breaking. He did tell me that he pushes people away when up set or stressed so what should i do i don't want to lose him!!!.

Dear Reader:

I'm sorry to say, I think you got attached to a con artist.  Most of what he says sounds like lies to me.  Believe this man when he says he can't give you what you want. Please move on, and find a real man: one who does not tell you what you want to hear. "How to Avoid Loving a Jerk" will help you recognize problematic men in the future.  You deserve a man who tells you the truth, and is caring and concerned.  So many people you meet online are not who they say they are. "Keys to a Happy Relationship" and "Romance is Not Necessarily Love" will help you change your views of relationships.  Where is Love"  will help you figure out how to find a real relationship. It Ends With You: Grow Up and Out of Dysfunction will help you understand and let go of dysfunctional relationships.
