Decision Making The Easy Way
Written by John Terry
One of the many lessons I learned when I had my first business, Ridge Riders Roofing, was that making a decision creates stress. I'd been an employee up to that point, and as an employee I didn't have to make decisions. So this was a huge, new awareness for me. I discovered that the more decisions I had to make each day, the more exhausted I'd be at night. Each time an employee came to me with a question, I had to make a choice. It might be something simple, like "What do you want me to do next, boss?" but it was still a decision and it still created stress.
Years later I was working as an estimator for a home builder. Many times I watched in amazement as the clients' eyes glazed over with deer-in-the-headlights panic when they realized the multitude of decisions they were going to have to make about the construction of their home.
When I was in real estate I saw my clients experience major stress when it came time for them to make the monumental decision to make the largest purchase of their life. One client was so stressed out he tried to hide under the table. (His wife and I simply crawled under there with him and he signed the offer.)
It doesn't matter how large or small the issue is, having to make any choice creates stress in the person having to make the decision. Smaller, less important issues create less stress but you make more decisions about them during your day than you do the huge issues. These little decisions can quickly add up to equal the amount of stress created in making a decision of much greater importance. Ask anyone who has employees or who is in a management position what the most stressful part of their job is, and in the majority of instances the answer you'll get is "making decisions."
Through experiencing and learning several types of vibrational healing I've discovered a quick and easy two-step method you can use to make the best choice for you... and for all concerned.
1. Imagine yourself experiencing the end result of one of the choices. Then pay attention to your body. What sensations do you feel? A sinking feeling or tenseness in the stomach area? Elation and increased energy? Weakness, tiredness, or loss of energy? Tingling? Tightening muscles in your neck?
2. Next, imagine yourself experiencing the end result of another choice. Again, pay attention to what you're feeling in your body.
The sensations you experience are your body telling you the truth. The body is very literal and only knows what's true.
The mind, on the other hand, can justify anything.
Stress-free decision making comes from the body. Listen to your body and discern the truest, best choices for you.
