* 1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons butter
* ¼ teaspoon white vinegar
1 tablespoon golden brown sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter
* 2 ounces chopped ham
* 4 flour tortillas measuring 10 inches in diameter

Method of preparation -

Take a heavy skillet and melt two tablespoons of butter in it over medium heat. Add onion, vinegar and brown sugar and saute for a while. When the onion is browned, remove and cool to room temperature.

Set the oven to 350 degrees F and preheat. Divide the tortillas evenly and sprinkle the cheese on one half. At the top of the cheese, sprinkle with sauteed onions and prosciutto and season with pepper. On this cheese mixture, fold the other half of the tortilla. Brush the tortillas and a large skillet with melted butter and place over medium heat. The tortillas should be cooked slowly until you find the brown spots that appear in them. When they are done, transfer to a baking sheet and bake until cheese melts and tortillas are golden. When they are done, transfer quesadillas a work surface and cut into six triangles before arranging a plate and serve.
