If you suffer from the excessive sweating condition medically known as Hyperhidrosis, you will certainly be happy to know that this is a clinical condition that can easily be treated as long as the proper cures for excessive sweating are taken and the correct procedures are observed; resulting in a normal and healthy body than ever before. Although, Hyperhidrosis is not a major health risk, it is a clinical condition that HAS to be treated as soon as possible; as this will help your physicians determine whether extensive treatment is needed or if the condition stemmed from a deeper medical situation. This article will discuss the different type of cures for excessive sweating:

  • Both the over the counter and prescription types of antiperspirants are effective for those people who have a mild case of Hyperhidrosis. Treatment usually begins by a doctor advising the use of the generic over the counter antiperspirants and will usually be the prescribed treatment until the condition is fully treated. But if the over the counter antiperspirants do not do the trick, the prescription antiperspirants are then recommended. However, keep in mind that you have to clear this with your dermatologist. These prescription antiperspirants have ingredients that may cause irritation to the skin if not applied properly.
  • Anticholinergics help in the considerable reduction of sweating in a person suffering from excessive sweating. Again, make sure that you consult first with your doctor before taking any oral medication for Hyperhidrosis.

• Iontophoresis is the use of a device that produces small electrical charges to cure excessive sweating. Doctors use water to generate a small electric current in the skin’s surface to target the sweat glands unde
eath. Each treatment session lasts for twenty minutes and requires three sessions every week to fully treat Hyperhidrosis.

  • Botox shots can also be used to treat excessive sweating. Normally a preferred therapy to remove wrinkles, but has limited effectivity – a maximum of six months cure.
  • The most complicated among the cures for excessive sweating is to undergo surgery. Because the production of sweat is controlled by the body’s nervous system, a procedure called thoracic Sympathectomy would be required to permanently cure excessive sweating. Sympathectomy is the procedure of destroying the nerve supply to the sweat glands that in turn produce sweat. When you undergo the surgery, an endoscopic instrument is used and is inserted below the underarm area. The doctors would need to dilate the lungs in order for him to see which nerves he has to destroy. This is the most effective and is the permanent cure for excessive sweating but is also the most risky.

While surgery by far is the best way to treat Hyperhidrosis, it is still advisable to consult with your doctor to determine the best solution that will fit your condition. Keep in mind always that because of the body’s unique physiology, one excessive sweating may not be the same as the other so a treatment that may be effective for one person may not works as well to another.

Understanding DBS in Parkinson's Treatment Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) is an innovative and radical surgical procedure designed to alleviate the symptoms of late-stage Parkinson's disease. This operation is about placing electrodes in certain brain areas that control movement. These electrodes get linked to a small device that sends regulated electrical impulses, which is the main reason for the reduction of tremors, rigidity, and bradykinesia.
