For years now, t-shirt manufacturers have been using screen printing techniques as the preferred method of printing t shirts. However, with the advent of the computer age, digital printing has gained popularity as one of the best printing methods. The flexibility offered by digital printing in terms of creativity, unique design and graphics is what has made it the preferred choice for t-shirt printing today. However, printing experts at Documedia’s printing services say that one cannot just write off screen printing. Both screen and digital printing have their own advantages. Let us take a closer look at which technique is beneficial when. Documedia Digital Printing Services: For More Control Documedia’s printing consultants say, digital printing techniques offer greater degree of control during the actual printing process. You don’t have to worry about mixing inks as digital printers offer an auto-ink matching option, which enables the digital printer to reproduce the original design in the same colors directly on t-shirts. It is also easier to print multicolored graphics and designs on t-shirts digitally. However, due to the costs involved, digital printing is considered ideal for small runs. The set up required for digital printing is also more cost effective and easier as compared to screen printing. Documedia Screen Printing Services: For Faster and Cheaper Prints Screen printing is still considered as a quality printing process and is still being widely used for printing t shirts. However, the set up required for screen printing is not as cost effective as digital printing. For screen printing one requires a separate screen for each color in the design. This means that more intricate the design, the more the number of screens required, thus more the cost. However, when it comes to bulk print jobs, Documedia’s print experts say screen printing is the faster and cheaper option as compared to digital printing.
