Discover What It Takes to Write SEO Focused Articles
Written by Janise Majette
Practically anyone with the proper skills can write an excellent article but to make that article ideal for use online takes a different set of skills. Now you're not only writing for your readers but also for the search engines. When your article fails to rank within the search engines for your keywords, it means that you are missing out on a lot of free traffic that could be coming your way. If you're writing and publishing an article on the Internet, you obviously want it to get read, which is why your focus should always be on writing search engine optimized articles that make sense. Don't Keyword Stuff Your Articles: One of the most important rules of writing SEO articles is to insert keywords into your articles in a very natural way. You need to work at keeping the keyword density of your articles below five percent because once you get higher than that, your articles approach the "danger zone." Search engines do not like articles that are stuffed with keywords because they aren't very reader friendly and they do seem spammy. The articles that you write need to err on the side of sensibility and only include keywords when they are really necessary. In addition to the search engines not liking it, article directories reject articles that have a keyword density that is too high. Anchor Text in the Resource Box: When compared to a plain text resource box, an HTML resource box makes a lot more sense from the SEO point of view. If at all possible, you need to use your keyword phrases as part or all of your anchor text. This is your most effective method for letting search engines know that you want to have your website associated with and ranked for those specific keywords. If you're serious about getting the most bang from your article marketing effort you should never overlook the power of HTML in the resource box. Don't Use Misspelled Keywords: There is a pattern going around in which many article marketers are doing in which they put incorrectly spelled keywords in articles to get ranked. The thing is, the traffic you can get from a keyword phrase that has a spelling error is not a lot. Besides, it screws up the general quality of the article and make it appear amateurish. Who would want to spend time viewing an article that had a lot of spelling mistakes? You know what you were trying to do, but not your reader. So they will just leave the article and do another search for the proper spelled keyword. In conclusion, this article makes us realize that in order to get the most benefit from article marketing, you have to be good at SEO. The more SEO concentrated your article is, the higher your chances of getting search engine traffic that converts. But this does not mean that you should compromise the quality of your article just for the sake of appeasing the search engines. You should know how to create a unique balance by focusing on the search engines and as well as your readers, both.
