Diversifying your online income is one of the essential things you should know when you have a website.

What if most of your ads are with Google AdSense. Say that it makes up 90% of your online income. Supposing Google will cancel your account! You would lose 90% of your website's earnings, then what would you do? Can you recover immediately? For most, it would be very difficult.

If you have a website, you can diversify by using pay-per-click, direct leads, PPA or pay per action or by receiving commissions from promoting products or services.

Just make sure to watch the performance of your website. Make sure that you are checking your stats to see which banners and ads are performing the best and swap out the ones that aren't doing as well. It's also an excellent idea to vary your banners every few months anyway to get "fresh blood" on your website. Thevisitors will become "banner blind" after sometime and will soon overlook all of your ads and banners.

Developing your online income also consists of creating other sites. At this time, I have a number of websites that I create earnings from. Almost 4 months previously, Google banned one of my websites from their search engine! Among internet marketers, this is a familiar occurrence. It appears that my website had lots of outgoing links to sponsor ads and they regard it a "link farm". But that site at the time was raking in around $1000/month. If I didn't have all of my other sites to pick up the slack, can you imagine the mess that could have happened?

Having them on several servers is another way of increasing your online earnings. These days hosting is dirt cheap. Let’s suppose throw one or two of them up on a $5.99 a month server and pay for a year's worth of hosting, then you’re on the right track. Aside from the search engine benefits, you also don’t have to worry if one of your servers will go down.

So remember to diversify your income and you'll be glad when you're having a slow sales month on one of your affiliate programs, all of the other ones may just pick up the slack!
