Do We Teach Our Children to Feel Right?

One question that always seems to stand out from the negotiations, "What can you give me?" It is interesting how human nature makes us feel that we are entitled to certain things, no matter how big or small they are.

It's everywhere

We feel right at home. We demand things from our spouses and children, sometimes approaching them properly.

We believe the right to work. We hope that there are bonuses or additional payments, based on our time on the job, even though our results do not warrant them.

We believe in the right car. Somehow we tend to come to our destination is more important than the other driver is.

We feel entitled to our finances. Even when we have allowed ourselves to get into serious debt (that we agreed to pay back), we still manage to convince ourselves that we have the right to spend our paychecks as we see fit. We are often willing to defer payment of the account just to satisfy a temporary desire.

We feel right with God. We believe that the Christian life is supposed to get easier. We believe that there should be a happy and carefree all the time.

Can we promote this?

Many of us also can see that the right to send their children feel. Every time they see something new in a shop or commercial television, they immediately start begging us to buy it.Our kids are so used to things, just ask - and not working for you and make them - that they have no concept of how the real world works. Some teens really think that they could easily earn a comfortable living with just secondary education. We know that this is not the norm.

When we look at all of our life where we feel a legal sense, we can see that, as parents, we are not setting a good example to their children. We need to show the kind of lifestyle that we want our children to follow.

How do we correct it?

At home, we must lead by example and show our families that we ask of them. We have to do with our spouses for our children to model the keys to a strong, Christian marriage. We should also do our children not only create a healthy and open relationship with them, but also to teach their children how to interact with others.At work, let's practice 2 Timothy 2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not have to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (NIV)

We should ask ourselves whether we are doing our best work. Are there any areas of our business where we can improve? If he was our boss, is there anything that we would have done differently? Have we completed our task well enough to deserve further benefit of any kind?Before getting into the car, we need to pray away our road rage. We can ask God for help with time management, allowing us to leave early enough to take into account any delay on the road. We should also pray for a clear understanding that we can identify and avoid potential accidents.

In view of our finances, we should remember to honor all of our debts. We can ask God's help, to avoid the temptations that are likely to find us right around stages. We should try to be content with things, and we carefully evaluate our spending decisions.

We need to re-evaluate our relationship with God. For reinsurance His promises, we can always go to His Word.While it is true that God has promised to give us his heart, that promise was a conditional promise of wishes. Psalm 37:4 tells us, "Delight yourself the Lord and He will give you your heart desires." (NIV).This line tells us that we should seek God and His will first. Then, our desire to be line with the wishes of God for us. When we truly put God first, we notice that even our dreams seem to change little.

God never promised us that life is simple. John 16:33, Jesus told us: "In this world you will have problems." But he ends the poem with this beautiful reminder: "But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (NIV)

As we move forward, let's be more aware of our expectations of God and those around us. Let's make a stronger effort to be more polite, diligent, responsible, and thankful for all God has given us.
