Effective Anorexia Cure and Natural Treatment

Anorexia is short form of Anorexia Nervosa. It literally means loss of appetite. It is an eating disorder. The cause of this disorder is not physical but psychological. People suffering from anorexia are convinced that they are fat or overweight, but usually body weight of such person is nearly 15 percent less than their ideal body weight. There are some techniques used by them to lose weight such as fewer intakes of food that too in small amount, strenuous exercise and usage of laxatives. In some cases anorexics places fingers down the throat to induce vomiting. They ignore hunger to lose body weight rapidly.

This disorder is more common in women. Such women often restrict themselves to take part in social gatherings and even they may avoid relationships. Anorexia is serious disease for elderly peoples. Elderly women often fears to eat so that they could look young and attractive. In such age this disease is more deadly.

There are two types of anorexia. First one is called restricting anorexia. In this type, weight loss is achieved by restricting calories following extreme dieting and use of diet pills, or by excessive exercise. Second one is called purging anorexia. In this type of disorder, person tries to lose weight by coerce vomiting, and often uses laxative and diuretics drugs. Anorexia might be caused due to insecurity or pressure of being perfect. Uncontrolled feelings are common cause for causing anorexia.

There are many symptoms of anorexia - the most common symptom is dieting despite being underweight. Anorexics are obsessed with calorie and fat content. Dramatic loss of weight and fear of gaining weight is a symptom of being anorexic. An anorexic might indulge in frequent strenuous exercises and often they are lethargic and depressed. These symptoms show that this disorder is very dangerous for body and it could cause death, especially in the case of old age peoples. There are some preventions and remedies for curing anorexia.

1. This one is very simple remedy yet best diet for anorexics. Take two or three cloves and boil them with a cup of water. Add juice of half lime and divide the preparation in two halves and drink it twice a day.

2. Every day during breakfast have two or three oranges or one glass of orange juice to sharpen the appetite.

3. Apples are tasty variety of useful remedy for anorexia. Eat 2 fresh apples everyday. There are enzymes in stomach for digestion of food. Active ingredients of apples will stimulate the flow of enzymes for improved digestion.

4. Mix ginger with lime juice and add rock salt to taste. Keep this preparation in sunlight for 3 days. Take one teaspoon after every meal will enhance the capacity of digestive system.

Some prevention is also very important. Avoid intake of too oily or too spicy food. Develop the habit of mild exercising. Exercise will improve the digestion and it will also help digestive system to grasp every bit of vitamins and minerals available in the food. Restore normal body health with a combination of various vegetables and fresh fruits. Once body will retain its normal health, recovery will be much faster. As it is a psychological and behavioral disorder, psychological counseling is advised for achievement of complete cure. Mental aspect of anorexia is a hindrance in the path of treatment. Friends and family must provide emotional support to such patients. Anorexia can be cured when treatment is continued with patience and intelligence.
