Written by Peter Filinovich
Natural remedies can cure all the reasons which are responsible for cutting blood supply to the affected area causing dry gangrene. Usually it is not accompanied or caused by an infection, it is the lack of oxygenated blood in the area which causes death of tissues, diabetes, blocked arteries, arteriosclerosis, thrombosis and frost bite are commonly found reasons for dry gangrene. Restating blood supply to the affected area, protecting the area from infections and resurrecting nerve functioning in the affected area can reverse the effects of dry gangrene.
Bandaging sliced onions to the affected area helps in improving blood circulation and preventing infections, this is an old natural remedy for dry gangrene. Take a clean cloth and soak it in boiling water, later press and twist it to let the water flow out of it, drop 15-20 drops of horsetail tincture on it and bandage it on the affected area. Similar quantity of horsetail tincture can be added in a bucket of warm water for washing and cleaning the area. A
ica cream or calendula is also a helpful remedy for curing dry gangrene, any of these creams can be applied on the affected area unless there are no cracks or open sores on the skin, these creams speed up the healing process. Bark of the oak tree can also be used for washing and for applying moist compresses to heal the affected area. Cream made by cayenne pepper is also effective in healing the area numbed due to dry gangrene.
A very effective natural remedy can be prepared for bandaging the affected area for quick healing, take one-fourth pound of powdered charcoal and mix it with one ounce of smartweed, pour one pint of boiling water over this mixture and steep it for 20 minutes, later add more charcoal till it forms a paste. Spread this paste over a cloth and tie it on the affected area. Valerian, bucktho
bark, yellow dock and skull cap can be mixed in equal quantities, take one and half teaspoon of this mixture and mix it in a third-fourth glass of boiling water and steep it for few minutes, consume this an hour before every meal and one cup before going to bed. Some people may suffer from constipation due to this remedy; herbal laxatives can be taken to clear bowel movements. Extract of Echinacea herb about 20 drops three times a day and regularly for a month also helps in treating dry gangrene. Twenty five drops of gingko extract everyday is also an effective natural remedy for dry gangrene.
If the affected part is bleeding and there is any pus formation then clean this part with hydrogen peroxide at least three times in a day for clearing infection. Supplements can be taken for ample supply of vitami
A, E and C to the body though these vitamins are available through normal diet too but to cure dry gangrene quickly taking these in supplement form is more useful. Increased intake of fruits and green leafy vegetables and sufficient quantity of water is also helpful in curing dry gangrene.
