Do you have your own motivation techniques? Better still, do you actually use them?...
Being able to motivate yourself is a very difficult thing to attempt, but yet it is so important to achieving the meaningful stuff in life. By putting into practice the simple techniques within this article, I'll make it that bit simpler for you. OKAY...
MUCH easier!
The missing link between a good personal development plan and you EXTRAORDINARY life, is MOTIVATION!. Because my aim is to tell everyone who's interested, how to live their EXTRAORDINARY life, it's a no brainer to write about bridging that gap.
You may have noticed earlier, I said SELF HELP motivation techniques...
It is very important that you know how to motivate yourself, because it's very unlikely you'll have a motivational coach at your beck and call all the time. And besides, you want to be the master of your own destiny, don't you?...
OK, that's the intro out of the way, let's now focus on my self help motivation techniques.
HAVE YOU PLANNED FOR MOTIVATION?
You must have heard the phrase, "Be careful what you wish for", well I say, "be careful what you PLAN for". Why?...
Well obviously, planning to be the next bonnie and Clyde might not be the greatest idea, I'm sure you can appreciate that. But what I really mean, is the need to understand the bigger picture...
The bigger picture regarding your life...
Once the bigger plan is in place, then you start to create momentum which becomes UNSTOPPABLE. This kind of momentum, in itself, will mean you'll NOT require other self help motivation techniques.
For an insight into this bigger picture, you will need a sensible theory in regards to your life's purpose. I believe life's purpose is to lead a life of abundant happiness, amongst other things, but let's focus on happiness in this article. Everything, and any, type of plan we put toghether, obviously should help you to achieve this. With that in mind, any plan you begin to follow ideally will have a desired outcome that helps you achieve, or be closer to, the 'bigger picture', i.e. (happiness)...
Make sense?
By now, you're probably wondering why I'm talking about this when this article is supposed to cover self help motivation techniques. Stay with it, it will soon become much clearer...
You see, any good, 'proper' and well thought out plan, will offer much needed CLARITY. Clarity is very important to us, without clarity, our brain shuts down almost instantly. Naturally, this will result in a LACK of motivation. Here's my point, in the first place, you ideally should have a good plan to follow that makes the way forward clear, that, on it's own, will motivate you.
IS BAD REALLY BAD?...
I'm always telling people they should NEVER be worried about the prospect of failure. Do you know why? Because more often than not, the JOURNEY bears more fruits than the actual destination. If you're anything like the people I discuss this with, you'll be thinking this isn't easy to put into practice...
In fact, it's NOT... Basically, it comes down to your FOUNDATIONAL VALUES.
In hindsight, I can vividly remember many failures throughout my life that has educated me with SO much invaluable lessons you just CAN'T put a price on. Want prove? This article is proof because the reason I'm able to pass on my 'pearls of wisdom' is because I've learnt from my failures! ;-)
Success is a poor teacher - DON'T FORGET THAT. Once you truly believe this, you will NOT be afraid of failing in the future. In fact, since we're already on the subject, look back on your previous failures and ask yourself - is there something I could have learnt from the JOURNEY.
Success is not what you achieve, it's what you OVERCOME. Your greatest failures have the potential to be your greatest successes, that should explain my saying, "Bad is GOOD, if you allow it to be!"
You might be wondering what this has got to do with self help motivation techniques. Well let me tell you, it has EVERYTHING to do with it. Fear of previous failures can literally become CRIPPLING. Fear hinders motivation, so it is VERY relevant to self help motivation techniques. If you can learn to successfully overcome fear, you'll feel lighter while, at the same time, find it much easier becoming motivated....
Having a good level of emotional intelligence will definitely help you to more effectively handle your fears, and when you're really good at it, you can actually use your fears, along with the the 'encrypted clues' it gives you, in conjunction with my self help motivation techniques.
So, if you are going to start as if you mean to go on, make sure you get drummed into your brain BEFORE even contemplating trying to use any self help motivation techniques.
