If you are planning to visit Paris then it will be very interesting to know more about Eiffel tower, the symbol Paris. Eiffel tower was named after it`s engineer Gustave Eiffel. Gustave Eiffel was specialized in metallic buildings.
The tower was built in two years by 132 workers and 50 engineers. The tower was built for Paris world exhibition in the year 1889. Two million people visited this master piece in the world fair of 1889. The tower was planned to be demolished in the year 1909 because it was not having any practical use and was built just to demonstrate the capabilities of modern engineering. The tower was saved because of it`s use in telecommunication services. During it`s life time Eiffel tower has witnessed few strange scenes including being scaled by a mountaineer in 1954 and parachuted off in 1984 by two english men.

Eiffel tower is divided in three levels. Open elevators bring visitors to these different levels. From each level you can see an interesting and beautiful view of Paris.
