Management entrance exams

MBA (Master of Business Administration) is one of the most important, essential post graduation professional courses in India and abroad. In today’s job market, the companies give much emphasis to graduates with management degree. The salary level of management graduates are also hiked, after gaining the degree. In today’s world, management knowledge is highly essential in all professions and industrial fields. CAT 2013 and CMAT 2013 are the two major national based management entrance tests of India. CAT exam is conducted in the month of November and CMAT exam is conducted in the month of September, every year. These exams are conducted on very large scale in almost all the major towns and cities across the nation, on specific dates, especially on holidays.

Admission rounds
There are various specializations in management degree like finance, marketing, human resource (HR), systems, operations, advertising, international management, etc. All these management specializations have equal value in the job market. The candidates, who qualify the written entrance exam, are called for the GD (group discussion) and PI (personal interview) rounds. Question paper pattern
The major part of the question paper is multiple choice question or MCQ type. There are four choices for each correct answer. Thus, there is negative marking for each wrong answer. For tis reason, the candidates should be very careful while answering these questions. English, logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, general awareness and math are the major sections of the question paper. All the sections of the question paper must be studied with equal importance. The candidates should also prepare well for their GD and PI rounds.

Application procedure and eligibility criteria
The application forms for CAT 2013 and CMAT 2013 are available at various public sector bank branches all over the nation. The forms should be properly filled up by the candidate and mailed on the official address of the exam council, along with exam fees. In order to appear for MBA entrance exams, the candidate should be a minimum graduate in any specialization, from a recognized university.
