Whether you are an aspiring event planner or simply someone who wants a party at their house to go off without a hitch, you have to know what goes into pulling off a successful event. Here are five things you need at your next event to make sure everyone has a great time.

Food and Water
It’s not a party without food. Depending on the nature and size of your event, food can be brought in individually or catered especially for the occasion. Make sure you provide plenty of water as well. Hydration is very important and your guests will thank you for it, especially if they are doing physical activities such as walking around or dancing.

Adequate Trash Cans
People attending your event will be in need of places to deposit their waste. Ensure that the facility where you will be holding the event has adequate trash cans. Also ensure the bins are strategically placed. For example, large bins should be located near where people are eating, at the end of a station where people create their name badges and other similar places.

Adequate Restrooms
Like with trash bins, you want to ensure attendees will have access to adequate restrooms. Most facilities accommodating major events have plenty of restrooms already there, but you may need to get more creative if you are holding your event outside. In this case, restroom trailer rentals can be a worthwhile investment.

Music
No matter the nature of your event, music is a must-have. Aside from creating a great atmosphere, you will be supporting artists who are often local and independent. This makes having live music at your next event a win-win. Even if you don’t want to have live music, you should still consider assembling the perfect playlist and having it on during your event.

Shelter
For major events where special guests and regular attendees will be staying the night, you may have to arrange for lodging. Outdoor events may need overhangs and tents for guest comfort, which can be rented from a number of providers. Outdoor tents can be used for a number of purposes at an event such as covering a food table, dining area, speaking platform and more.

Event planning can feel overwhelming but it doesn’t have to be. To pull it off well, pay attention to detail and make arrangements well in advance. If you have access to event information from previous years, use feedback from those years to improve your event further. With the right planning, your event, no matter its size, will be a rousing success.
